HOW TO DEACTIVATE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT

If you want to take a break from Facebook or temporarily deactivate your account, follow these steps:

  1. Desktop:

a. Log in to your Facebook account.

b. Click on the downward-facing arrow in the top-right corner of the Facebook page.

c. Select "Settings & Privacy" and then choose "Settings."

d. In the left sidebar, click on "Your Facebook Information."

e. Click on "Deactivation and Deletion."

f. Select "Deactivate Account" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

  1. Mobile App:

a. Open the Facebook app on your device and log in, if necessary.

b. Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner to open the menu.

c. Scroll down and tap on "Settings & Privacy."

d. Tap on "Settings."

e. Scroll down and tap on "Account Ownership and Control."

f. Tap on "Deactivation and Deletion."

g. Tap on "Deactivate Account" and follow the prompts to complete the deactivation.

When you deactivate your account, your profile, photos, posts, and comments will be hidden from other users, but they will not be deleted. You can reactivate your account later by logging in with your credentials. Keep in mind that some information, like messages you've sent to friends, may still be visible to them even after you deactivate your account.

If you're sure you want to permanently delete your Facebook account (not just deactivate), you can follow the similar steps, but instead of choosing "Deactivate Account," select "Permanently Delete Account." Keep in mind that this action is irreversible, and your data will be permanently deleted.

Always make sure you have a backup of any important information or content you want to keep before deactivating or deleting your account.
